more than a little flustered

how does it always happen that vacation ends before i get all my vacationing and then organizing/ necessary things done?

So, back to class, once again updating during lunch. Class is nice to be back to, although not practicing kanji for two weeks is a BAD idea. Thankfully, I skipped kanji class this week to go shopping. Yep, on the right track, thats me. But i wanted to check out the last of the sales before they ended, and i had that two and a half hour break, and figured i could bus back in time for class if i was so inclined. Actually, i said that to myself so i wouldnt feel bad. I knew i was not busing back before dinner time. Anyway, finally found a purse big enough to hold a camera, wallet and dictionary (that i actually liked). Looked into electronic dictionarys, i want one desperately, but not enough to fork over upwards of 200 bucks. Oh well.

Sunday went on a bird watching walk with Okaasan in Nara. We went for the walking, but since everyone was so damn old, they were creaking along in the SERIOUSLY bad weather. My umbrella was turning inside out, it was snowing and slushing and terrible. Found my daily connection though. Was half listening to the guide for the Nara Palace Archeological museum (or some such) and he says a few names and i perk. (Ready Jen?) Genbu. Seiryu. and (giving it away!) the Suzaku gate. The huge red southern palace gate we passed on the train. Main gate into the palace (it was in Nara, then Kyoto, and then finally the capital moved to Tokyo). I was amused.

Also! Boys Over Flowers 2 is coming on to tv from now on. Guy i always mix up with other guy is the romantic lead. Figured out the two guys though. Guy one has the pointier face, was in teppan shoujo akane, kizarazu cats, koibumi biyori and.. i think im missing one, but still. Guy 2 is from hana yori dango (boys over flowers), in the band arashi, and was the other guy in tokyo tower. Actually they look nothing alike. Why do i get them mixed up?

Alex came home sick as a dog. Didnt eat for a few days, went to the hospital, they gave him an iv. Still is sick, but at school.

Ah yes, 荷物の日! Forgot. Last last weekend (maybe?) started the day glumly, thought it would suck. Went out with Hiroe for videos. Found the discount bin at Tsutaya - bought all their Sailor moon super s on vhs. Did i mention all this already? Maybe. Came home to find packages from Daniel and Cole. Was tres pleased. The same happened Tuesday. Skipped class to shop, bought a few things, came home to package from David. Thank you! Really, i am a spoiled spoiled me. I feel bad i didnt send stuff to everyone. >.< Sorry!

I think i am missing more stuff. Oh! Looks as if my mom may actually come to Japan! She was talking about it, but i assumed it was just wishful thinking. But as she is now talking about dates, im thinking she may actually get a ticket. Worst part? Im not 100% psyched. Ugh. I am a heel. A part of me is very excited - i want to show my parents around and show off and stuff. The other part of me would like very much to be left alone. I think its a phase though. Im only worried that my two month vacation will disappear out from under me without me doing anything on my own steam, or alone. There is the (very boring but necessary) internship im sure ill land, my host family wants to take a trip to hiroshima, and maybe tokyo to show me around (looking forward to this, though), and then my parent(s?) are coming, and then i also MUST study for the placement test on the first of april. must must must study. One of my new years resolutions is to study - id like to remember the stuff ive learned, instead of just being able to use it for the test.
